Oh I had some *amazingly* garbagey moviegoing experiences at the Wavery. it's also, to take an example at random, where I saw the David Lynch DUNE. On the bright side, it's also where I saw LIQUID SKY.
I saw this movie as well while it was in the theaters, despite having been warned...often...not to.

I'm glad you recall it better than I do, Scott. I'm sure I was with a date and we probably started canoodling somewhere around the "armchair through the wall" scene and probably finished somewhere around the "duck wrangler" credit.
Personally, I'm not too thrilled with the vividness of my memory. I even remember where I saw it--the Waverly. Then afterwards we went to the Dew Drop Inn and drank heavily.

Did we date back in the 1980s? My fraternity house was just past the Greek diner on W 4th.
Sadly, I think not. My go-to Greek joint was La Bonbonniere on 8th.
