I honestly have no idea. This one kind of broke my brain a little, and I suspect the book, when finished, will be light on Early Oughts Euro Weirdness.
This sounds... pretty ghastly. You almost had me at Mark Strong, though. He's such a masterful villain. *sigh* Clearly though, he wasn't in this thing for long.
Thanks for taking a hail of bullets for us with this one.
Very funny review, but an incomprehensible plot.
What do you suppose it meant- especially the airborne Ugandans?

*tears up query letter about Reykjavik Whale Watching Massacre*
I am surprised. Aside from the fact that Lars von Trier is a misogynistic, animal hating Nazi, I expected better from this genre.

That's a knee slapper!

You're being Cruella here, Scott.
C'mon, Carl. Now you're just showing off.
<<Meanwhile, people in Uganda are flying without planes>>
Pretty sure this is a leftover from Idi Amin as a mode of transportation: the trebuchet.
No but that's the thing...they just bob around. The trebuchet would actually be an improvement--crueler, yes, but at least they'd be making good time!
Ah, floaters. Not sinkers.

Is this really in the film or is this a Clevengerism (I'm so submitting that to Urban Dictionary) that actually improves the film?
As Stan Mack's Real Life Funnies used to say, "All Dialogue Guaranteed Verbatim!" That one is all on the Danes.
I must see this film. Has Netflix expired yet?
I refuse to enable this.
<<it's on Netflix streaming--but it expires on Sunday, I think.>>
The movie? Or Netflix?
Either one sounds like we'd be Better Off Dead....

I love him too and felt a bit of hope when he appeared. But he's...not really a factor in how the film plays out, alas.
