I did not realize when I saw this movie that it was soft gay porn. Now it makes more sense. Great review.

But where was the Scientology? It had to be there, even subliminally.

Two snaps up.

Thanks, Cheryl. And that's a good point--I should go on a quest to find Tom's most Scientological movie.

What I really loved was the remake, where both Kelly and Meg mysteriously vanish.

And Tom's (hetero) love interest/beard? would have been a gleam in someone's eye during the first run of the original.

Thank you. I needed this! :)

<<“White Castle”>>

Was Jake Busey in this movie or Starship Troopers? I can never remember. I do remember large insects but that could still be either one

Top Gun, for all its faults, was, and remains, 100% Busey-free.

<<“Goose” (Anthony Edwards), whose callsign suggests he’s either the comic relief, or was force-fed grain by a French farm wife until he developed an enlarged and delicious liver. >>

Or he's the wise and lovable old coot who goes around checking the length of women's skirts by running his hand up their thighs.

1980s, after all...

Well, Edwards was in the weirdly kinda rapey REVENGE OF THE NERDS, so...yeah. Eighties, man.
